360° Photo Booth Lighting in Lebanon with TM1934 RGB Pixel LED Strip Case
Photo Booth Lighting in a 360° photo booth does more than simply illuminate the platform. Because the camera moves around the subject, the LED lighting installed around the booth also becomes part of the final video.
For this project in Lebanon, the customer wanted a 360° Photo/Video Booth that could do more than display one fixed color. They needed different colors and dynamic lighting effects that could change the overall look of the platform.
To achieve this, the project used a TM1934 addressable RGB LED strip with a compatible controller, allowing the lighting to change with different effect settings.
The customer’s original requirement was simple:
How can we make the 360° platform display different colors and turn the lighting itself into part of the video experience?
How can we make the 360° platform display different colors and turn the lighting itself into part of the video experience?
Project Background
This project came from a customer in Lebanon and involved a 360° Photo/Video Booth with a rotating camera setup.
As the camera moves around the person on the platform, it captures the subject and the surrounding environment from different angles. This means the lighting installed around the booth can also appear directly in the recorded video.
For this customer, the goal was not simply to provide basic illumination.
They wanted color and motion to become part of the overall visual experience.
They wanted color and motion to become part of the overall visual experience.
So when selecting the lighting solution, the question was not only whether the LED strip could change color, but also how the colors could change and what those effects would look like on camera.
Customer Challenge
A 360° Photo Booth records movement from multiple angles, so the lighting remains visible throughout much of the video rather than appearing in only one fixed shot.
White lighting or a single static color could provide basic illumination, but that was not what the customer wanted.
They needed the platform to change color and create more dynamic visual effects.
With a conventional RGB LED strip, the whole strip normally displays the same color at the same time. If it is set to blue, the entire platform appears blue. Change it to red, and the whole strip turns red together.
The customer wanted more flexibility than that.
So the real question was not:
“Can an RGB LED strip change color?”
It was:
“How can the lighting around the 360° platform create more flexible color changes and dynamic effects?”
That requirement became the key factor in selecting the lighting system.

Our Solution
Based on the customer’s need for changing colors and dynamic effects, we selected a TM1934 addressable RGB LED strip together with a compatible controller.
For this project, the customer received the following LED strip configuration:
The TM1934 solution was selected mainly because the customer wanted more than basic RGB color changing.
They did not want every video to have the same visual appearance. Instead, they wanted to create different colors and effects for different settings and events.
They did not want every video to have the same visual appearance. Instead, they wanted to create different colors and effects for different settings and events.
Using a programmable lighting system made that possible.
Rather than keeping the entire strip static, the controller can be used to create changing color patterns and dynamic effects around the platform. This is where programmable LED strips offer a clear advantage in this type of application.

For this project, the important point was not how many technical features TM1934 could offer on paper. What mattered was whether its control method matched the lighting effect the customer actually wanted.
We have already covered the TM1934 IC, specifications, control features and available configurations in a separate product guide, so we do not repeat all of that technical information here.

In this case study, the focus is simpler:
What problem did the TM1934 RGB pixel LED strip solve in this 360° Photo Booth application?

Product Application
The TM1934 addressable RGB LED strip was installed around the 360° Photo/Video Booth platform.
What makes this application different is that the camera is moving while the lighting can also change.
As the camera rotates around the person, the lights around the platform enter the frame from different angles. If the colors are changing at the same time, or if the lighting effect moves around the platform, the LED strip becomes part of the visual content rather than just a source of illumination.
As the camera rotates around the person, the lights around the platform enter the frame from different angles. If the colors are changing at the same time, or if the lighting effect moves around the platform, the LED strip becomes part of the visual content rather than just a source of illumination.
For example, the platform can move from blue into purple, display several colors at once, or create effects that travel around the circular edge of the booth.
As the camera moves, those changes are recorded from different angles.
As the camera moves, those changes are recorded from different angles.
For the customer, this also brought a practical advantage: the visual style of the booth could be changed without modifying the platform itself.
Different lighting settings could be used for different events, from softer gradient effects to brighter RGB animations or colors matched to a particular theme.

In this way, the same 360° Photo Booth could support different visual styles simply by changing the lighting program.
This is one reason photo booth lighting can become much more than background illumination when programmable RGB strips are built into the platform itself.

Implementation Process
After confirming that the customer needed changing colors and dynamic lighting effects, we finalized the actual LED strip configuration.
The supplied product was a 12V TM1934 addressable RGB LED strip with 60 LEDs/m, a 10mm black PCB and IP20 protection, together with a compatible control solution.

This also means the project used a configuration that fits naturally within the broader category of 12V LED RGB strip lights, but with programmable pixel control added for more dynamic effects.
After receiving the products, the customer installed the LED strips on several Booth platforms and shared photos showing the strips powered on.
From those images, we could see that the strips had been installed around the circular structure and were being tested with different colors and lighting effects.

At that stage, the customer specifically told us:

So these images recorded the real testing stage after installation, rather than the final finished presentation.
They also gave us a direct view of how the LED strips were positioned on the platforms, how they looked when powered on, and how different colors appeared in the actual Booth environment.

Project Results
After installation and testing, the TM1934 addressable RGB LED strips were being used on several of the customer’s 360° Photo Booth platforms and were producing different colors and lighting effects.
In the customer’s photos, the LED strips can be seen installed around the outer edge of the circular platforms.

On one Booth with reflective surfaces, the blue LED lighting created a noticeable sense of visual depth through reflection. Other platforms showed different color combinations and lighting effects.
The testing results directly answered the customer’s original question:
How can a 360° platform avoid being limited to one fixed lighting look?

By combining the TM1934 RGB pixel LED strip with a compatible controller, the customer could change both the colors and the dynamic effects without changing the physical Booth structure.
The lighting moved beyond basic illumination and became part of the visual experience captured in the 360° video.

Customer Feedback
After completing the installation and testing, the customer shared several photos of the 360° Photo Booths in operation and gave us a very direct comment on the LED strips:
“Yours is very good.”
“Yours is very good.”
The feedback came after the products had been installed and tested on the customer’s actual equipment.
For us, that kind of response is more meaningful than simply listing product specifications. It shows that the TM1934 solution had moved from product selection and configuration into a real application and had been tested on the customer’s Booth platforms.

What We Learned from This Project
This project highlights a simple but important principle when selecting LED strips:
First decide what you want the lighting to do. Then choose the LED strip.
First decide what you want the lighting to do. Then choose the LED strip.
If a 360° Photo Booth only needs the entire platform to change color at the same time, a conventional RGB LED strip may already be enough.
But if the project requires more flexible color changes, moving effects or lighting that becomes part of the video itself, then an addressable or programmable solution becomes more relevant.
But if the project requires more flexible color changes, moving effects or lighting that becomes part of the video itself, then an addressable or programmable solution becomes more relevant.
For projects like this, it is often more useful to ask:
“What lighting effect do we want people to see?”
before asking:
“Which LED strip model should we use?”

The product model should come from the application requirement, not the other way around.
FAQ
1. Can addressable RGB LED strips be used for 360° Photo Booth lighting?
Yes. If the project needs changing colors, moving effects or other programmable lighting patterns, an addressable RGB LED strip can be installed around the platform and paired with a compatible controller.
The final configuration should still depend on the Booth size, installation position, strip length, control method and power requirements.

2. What is the difference between regular RGB strips and addressable RGB strips for a 360° Photo Booth?
A conventional RGB LED strip normally changes color as one complete section, so the whole strip displays the same color at the same time.
An addressable or RGB pixel LED strip provides more flexible control, allowing different controlled sections to display different colors and supporting moving or chasing effects.
If you are looking for an LED light strip individually addressable for dynamic photo booth effects, it is important to confirm how each pixel is controlled before choosing the strip.
That flexibility was important in this project because the customer wanted more than simple whole-strip color changing.

Choosing LED Lighting for Your 360° Photo Booth
For a 360° Photo Booth project, we recommend starting with the visual effect you want to achieve rather than choosing an LED strip model first.
If you are developing or configuring a similar Photo/Video Booth, you can share the platform dimensions, installation position, required colors and effects, and preferred control method.
From there, the LED strip, controller and power configuration can be matched to the actual application.
