Slovak Outdoor Lighting Case Study: How LW Lighting Helped a Client Choose the Right 230V Neon Flex Light

In April 2023, a Slovak engineering and contracting firm reached out to LW Lighting with a project brief and some on‑site photos. They were renovating three separate buildings and needed lighting fitted beneath the roof attics, in outdoor spaces.


The client already knew the length they needed for each building, but the supply voltage, protective structure, and wiring approach still had to be worked out. With sharp swings between winter and summer temperatures in the region, whether the product could really hold up as reliable led neon flex outdoor lighting was another concern on their minds.
Working through these points together, we talked over strip specs, connection methods, and mounting hardware with the client. They ended up ordering 230V neon flex light strips on May 29, then came back on August 1 to add an order for led aluminium profile light channels.
What exactly did the client ask for?
What set this inquiry apart was how precise the client's requirements were — they wanted us to confirm, point by point, whether we could meet each one:
1. Strip lengths of 40m for the first building, 40m for the second, and 50m for the third, all in warm white (WW).
2. Since installation would be outdoors, with local temperatures swinging between -30°C and +40°C, the product needed to hold up to both extreme cold and heat — essentially asking whether this neon light led strip could really perform as a dependable led neon flex outdoor solution.
3. Would the strip ship with protective tubing included?
4. Could we supply it cut to the exact lengths specified, with both ends properly wired?
5. Should the strip run on 24V, or could it also be made in a 230V version?

These questions touched on the product itself as well as how it would be supplied and installed. Starting from the lengths and on‑site details the client had already given us, we worked through each point with them one by one.
With runs of 40 to 50 meters, how do you choose the right power setup?
The client initially asked about both 24V and 230V options, looking for whatever would work best across the three buildings' installation lengths. For the planned runs of 40m, 40m, and 50m, we focused the discussion on power feed points, voltage drop, and how the on‑site wiring would need to be arranged.
With a low‑voltage strip, single‑end power feed only supports 5 meters, and feeding from both ends extends that to 10 meters. Given the installation lengths and power conditions on this project, we recommended a 230V high‑voltage neon light led strip. The model we selected supports up to 100 meters of continuous single‑end power feed, comfortably covering the 40m and 50m runs the client specified, and cutting out the segmented power feeds a low‑voltage setup would have required.
After talking it through, the client settled on the 230V option, and the two‑end wiring they'd originally asked for was adjusted to single‑end feed instead. We also walked them through installation precautions — namely, not to cut or splice the strip themselves, and to install it strictly according to the product's specified method.
How did we confirm the product would hold up to outdoor temperatures?
Beyond installation length, the client was especially focused on whether the strip could handle the local swings between winter and summer temperatures. For this outdoor environment, we looked closely at operating temperature range, housing material, and IP rating.
For these conditions, LW Lighting recommended a neon flex light with a protective outer casing. This led neon flex outdoor option offers solid protection for the strip inside, carries an IP67 waterproof rating, operates across a ‑30°C to +40°C range, and uses a heat‑resistant silicone casing — all well suited to the client's local conditions.
