What is 5050 RGB LED Strip?
The term 5050 refers to the 5.0mm × 5.0mm LED chip size. Each chip integrates red, green, and blue pixels, allowing for millions of color combinations.
These 5050 SMD LEDs are mounted on a dual-layer pure copper flexible PCB and soldered using a low-temperature reflow soldering process, ensuring excellent conductivity, efficient heat dissipation, and a longer lifespan. The standard power is 0.2W or 0.5W per LED, and LW Lighting can customize them according to project requirements.
What’s the difference between RGB and RGBW?
RGB LED strips can also produce white light through color mixing. By selecting the right wavelengths for the red, green, and blue channels, the mixing effect can be ideal, typically resulting in pure white light.
On the other hand, RGBW LED strips incorporate an additional white LED, allowing for precise white light control. This white LED can be specified to achieve different color temperatures, such as 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, and 6000K, providing highly accurate white light.

What’s the difference between RGBW and RGB+W?
RGBW is a "single LED 4-in-1" design, where each LED chip contains red, green, blue, and white elements. When illuminated, the same LED chip completes both the color mixing and the white light output.
For example, in a 120 LED per meter strip, there are 120 integrated LEDs, each containing red, green, blue, and white chips. This results in 120 sets of red, 120 sets of green, 120 sets of blue, and 120 sets of white chips, with a density of 120 LEDs per meter, providing a continuous, gapless light output.
RGB+W is a "dual-LED combination" design, where separate RGB LEDs and white LEDs are paired together. The color and white light are produced by different LEDs, following a "parallel illumination" design.
For example, in a 120 LED per meter strip, 60 LEDs are pure RGB three-color LEDs, and 60 LEDs are independent white light LEDs, arranged alternately. This results in 60 sets of red, 60 sets of green, 60 sets of blue, and 60 sets of white chips. The density remains 120 LEDs per meter, but the light points are divided into "color groups" and "white light groups."

If you're looking for the most secure electrical connection, soldering is the best choice. First, confirm the markings on the LED strip: B (blue), G (green), R (red), V+ (positive). Then, solder the wires to the corresponding positions according to the markings. Tip: Cut along the marked lines, ensuring the soldering points are solid and the polarity is correct, and the LED strip will work smoothly.
2. Connector Method
Don't know how to use a soldering iron? No worries—connectors make installation quick and safe.
Simply: Cut the LED strip → Open the connector cover → Align the copper solder points → Confirm B/G/R/V+ → Close the clasp
